FATHER DEAR

Father dear
I see your smile flash on my son’s face,
I see in him your height and also the gait,
Alone in the evening back to the sun,
I see your contour in my shadow,
The shape of the bald head and the protruding ears.
I always thought you were there for me to argue,
Quoting often generation gap,
Never tried to listen or either to accept your words,
Today I recall all your wise words and realize their
In depth meaning.
Today I stand wearing your mantle
To face abreast the same arguments
To pass your words full of meaning to my children with equal patience
In me you live, through me you speak
No wonder my face is shaping slowly like yours!
